Riverview Gardens Announces 2015 Spring Social

Appleton, WI (March 16, 2015) – Riverview Gardens, Inc. announced its annual Spring Social for Tuesday, April 14, 2015, 5­7 p.m, Riverview Gardens Community Center, 1101 S. Oneida Street, Appleton, WI 54915. It is a chance for community members visit Riverview Gardens and tour its mission, property and programs. This event is a fun opportunity to see what really goes on at Riverview Gardens, what it does in the community, ways to volunteer time and talents with so many options, how to join the community supported agriculture (CSA) program and so much more. The program includes:

  • opportunity to mingle with light refreshments (5­5:30 p.m.)
  • interactive presentation with an opportunity to ask questions (5:30­6 p.m.)
  • behind­ the ­scenes walking tour of the property and programs (6­7 p.m.).

Dress is casual, and comfortable attire and walking shoes are recommended. An RSVP to [email protected] is helpful for planning, but is not required. This event is free to all community members. “We hope you will join us for this fun evening of education and social engagement focusing on Riverview Gardens’ mission of providing job training for our community members in need through our agri­ and food ­related social enterprises,” said Kelly Nutty, Director of Resource Management. “If you’ve heard about us and want to learn, this is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other. Current volunteers, donors and CSA members are welcomed and encouraged to attend. This is National Volunteer Week, so we want to highlight and thank our volunteers. Since beginning of our operations in 2012, more than 6,800 volunteers have contributed over 65,000 hours to Riverview Gardens.”

Riverview Gardens is a financially self­sustaining social enterprising, focused on job­ training for people in need, using urban farming in a park­like setting in downtown Appleton, WI.
