Spring is here and so is the Riverview Gardens retail store on College Avenue!
Walking into the beautiful, spacious storefront, you are greeted with the scent of freshly baked scones and Acoca coffee. In one of the large picture windows organic kale, lettuce, and pea plants wait, ready to be transplanted into your garden. In the other picture window tables and chairs invite you to chat and linger as you savor delicious baked-goods, freshly baked in the Riverview Gardens kitchen.
The menu changes daily but some of the mouth-watering options include: Carrot-apple bread, strawberry-basil scones, lemon-basil cookies, and salted caramel granola. Yum!
Spinach, living lettuce, mint, and tomatoes from Riverview Gardens are all for sale, as well as the Riverview Gardens cookbook and other Riverview Gardens merchandise. The hats and T-shirts look particularly snazzy. For all of you Dog lovers out there, Riverview Gardens even has homemade pumpkin dog biscuits for your favorite canine friend as well as a variety of locally made collars and leashes from STEP Industries, a local non-profit organization (because STEP spelled backwards is PETS!).
Local art work from youth and volunteers as well as portraits of successful ServiceWorks graduates decorate the walls. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, the perfect place to stop in while browsing around downtown.
