Riverview Gardens® collaborates with the Ryan Community, COTS Transitional Homeless Shelter, local treatment courts and other organizations to provide an innovative opportunity for successful graduates of the ServiceWorks® job-training program and other treatment programs. Through the D.O.O.R.S. program – Directing Ourselves and Others in Responsible Social Activities – participants engage in healthy, pro-social activities at Riverview Gardens’ interactive property. The D.O.O.R.S. program is peer-led to give participants an opportunity to build on prior successes, create new positive social relationships, share ideas on how to maintain sobriety and a criminal-free life, and have fun.
D.O.O.R.S. participants meet weekly for a casual dinner and group activities determined by participants, ranging from outdoor and indoor games, hiking, beekeeping, concerts, group discussions, special projects and other opportunities.
