April is National Volunteer Month and we want to thank the incredibly generous community members who donate their time to Riverview Gardens® and support our mission! Non-profit organizations are often dependent on individuals who believe in their mission and want to give a portion of their time in order to ensure its success – and we are no different. In 2018, 2,777 community volunteers supported our mission, donating more than 30,000 hours of work. From our board of directors to school groups and retirees to corporate team building, we simply could not do it without the support of so many!
This month we recognize 26 of our volunteers with the President’s Volunteer Service Award, for individuals serving more than 100 hours in 2018, including two volunteers who served more than 500 hours. This national award encourages Americans to live a life of service and take positive action that changes the world. Riverview Gardens is proud to be a certifying organization and honor our dedicated volunteers.
